After using a lemon yellow Volkswagen Beetle on the cover of the winter GPS Magazine, it was only a matter of Southern hospitality to express GPS’ thanks for the cooperation that VW of Chattanooga extended in making the cover possible.

Headmaster Randy Tucker and two of the sixth graders used in the cover photo went to the dealership on Monday, January 26 and carried the gift of an enlarged, mounted reproduction of the cover along with a dozen copies of the magazine for the sales staff to enjoy.

On hand to welcome the GPS visitors was Brad Cobb, one of the principals of the dealership and the husband of Courtney Bowers Cobb ’87. Olivia Ray and Hannah Thel represented their sixth grade classmates who were in the photo. The cover story relates the enthusiasm at GPS for sharing our technological leadership, innovative spirit, global focus, and commitment to the environment with the German automaker that has chosen Chattanooga as the site for its new U.S. plant.
