Last Friday afternoon at a special assembly, trustees Lizzer Bright Graham ’77 and Lorie Street Mallchok ’81 announced to the students the formal beginning of the new co-curricular program called Impact, which will focus on the areas of Service, Life Skills, Horizons, and Choices. Please follow this link (http://www.gps.edu/newsItem.php?item=3311) to visit the school’s web site and read an account of the assembly. An explanation of the genesis of Impact can be found in the winter edition of GPS Magazine, which should hit your mailboxes this week.
As a part of this program, Mr. Scott Graham will share the story of his assault on Mount Everest on Monday, January 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the Frierson Theater. We are inviting the entire school community, as well as prospective students and parents, to attend this Impact program. Jessica Good, Dean of the Faculty, will introduce Mr. Graham and take a minute to explain what Impact will mean to the school community.
