Bowling Team Wins Region

Winning two out of three games, the GPS bowling team won the Division II Region final over Baylor on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Hixson Lanes. The win, a two out of three game win for the Bruisers, sends GPS to the Team Bowling State Tournament on Friday, Jan. 25. Senior Emmy Welsh and junior Jessie Caldwell will compete on Thursday, Jan. 24 in individual tournament games. According to coach Jenise Gordon, the Bruiser bowlers were almost 200 pins higher than any previous match of the season and the last game bowled was a 930 pin game, almost 100 pins more than any previous game. Jamie Holstine was the high scorer for GPS with a 461 total.
